RISE researchers Riley B. Pizza and Sara E. Brownell have published a new article in Times Higher Education examining an often overlooked challenge in higher education: whether students must overcome barriers created by the accommodation process itself.

The article argues that many accommodation systems require students to navigate tasks that rely on time management, perseverance, and social skills, which may be especially challenging because of their disabilities.
