As a junior majoring in Biomedical Sciences at Barrett, The Honors College, I am pursuing medical school with the goal of extending authentic, compassionate care throughout my career. I grew up as a competitive dancer, an experience that taught me discipline, resilience, self-expression, and the importance of confidence in performance and personal growth. Inspired by the strong sense of community and identity that dance provided me, I founded a dance club here at ASU to create a similar environment for others. My background in dance has also shaped the way I approach research. Having experienced firsthand how confidence, mentorship, and self-perception influence performance, I am especially interested in exploring the relationship between AI usage and student learning outcomes. I completed my Barrett Honors Thesis on mental health in a generation shaped by social media, which sparked my interest in how emerging technologies influence confidence, identity, and learning. I believe there may be a connection between the increasing prominence of AI in education and declining academic confidence among students. Through the Project GenZ research initiative, I am committed to investigating how deeply these impacts extend, particularly in relation to academic integrity, self-worth, identity, motivation, and the overall health of the educational system.
