Here at ASU, I am a fourth-year student studying biomedical sciences! Being born and raised in Arizona, I have discovered a profound sense of community and belonging at our university. It has been a huge privilege to have become so familiar with our local Arizona communities, and it is through that outreach I have found an interest in examining our educational structures and exploring the significance of higher education in this day and age. Project Gen Z presents a fantastic opportunity to familiarize myself with how, on many foundational levels, modern learning is approached and implemented at such a large scale. Being at ASU and a part of an institution of such an immense size, we have the unique advantage of being able to work with and for people of many backgrounds to further the mission of Project Gen Z and improve biological science learning. As I prepare to graduate this upcoming May, I plan to pursue dental school and, hopefully, integrate the principles and perspectives of this research group into my future practice as to become a more thoughtful oral health professional.
