I am a cancer-biologist by training and my lab studies the expression patterns and biochemical function of group of genes that are aberrantly expressed in many cancers. Our future goals, in addition to cancer research, is to identify equitable practices in STEM research labs and explore the role of wrap-around mentoring in retention of marginalized groups in STEM. I am an immigrant woman of color who struggles with anxiety. I am a slow runner and use running to sort my mental well-being.
