Baylee Edwards is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Biology and Society program at Arizona State University. She explores student and instructor perceptions of the relationship between religion and evolution and how those perceptions impact student experiences and learning in undergraduate biology courses. Edwards is currently a research assistant in the Brownell Biology Education Research Lab. She was a co-instructor for a small enrollment writing seminar called The Embryo Project for two years, during which she helped undergraduate and graduate students develop their scientific writing and communication skills. She has also been a teaching assistant for a large-enrollment science course and worked as an introductory biology curriculum developer for three years. She hopes to continue working alongside instructors, education researchers, and curriculum developers to create more inclusive college biology courses that prioritize and support student learning.
