Aliya Hashim is a Barrett Honors student majoring in Neuroscience and Pharmacology & Toxicology, with a minor in Philosophy. She has been part of the RISE Center since 2024 and is passionate about making STEM more inclusive and accessible, especially for underrepresented and international students. This year, Aliya is leading the RISE Ambassadors and contributing to a research project focused on ADHD. She is also part of RISE Tutoring, where she supports refugee students in grades 1–10, and the REACT Education branch, which helps incoming refugees and asylees adjust to life in the United States. Beyond RISE, Aliya is part of the SOCIAL Lab and Dr. Hackney’s Lab. Outside of academics, she enjoys art, movies, and traveling, and loves spending time with her cat, Darcy.
